PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and to reduce the damage by uniformly dispersing fine hard particles of a prescribed Mo-Fe alloy phase in the Fe-C- Co-Ni matrix structure having a mixed structure contg. austenite and pearlite. CONSTITUTION:The titled sintered Fe alloy consists of, by weight, 0.2-0.5% C, 3-10% Mo, 3-15% Co, 3-15% Ni and the balance Fe. Fine hard particles are uniformly dispersed and diffused in the Fe-C-Co-Ni matrix structure having a mixed structure consisting of austenite, pearlite and ferrite structures to form a structure contg. the fine hard particles bonded firmly to the matrix structure. The fine hard particles are made of an Mo-Fe alloy phase having 3-30mum average particle size and Hv 600-1,300 hardness.
