PURPOSE:A composition having extremely improved molding and processing properties without damaging heat resistance, obtained by blending polyphenylene ether or a mixture of it and a styrenic resin with a specific carboxy compound. CONSTITUTION:Polyphenylene or a composition of it and a styrenic resin is blended with a carboxy compound shown by the formula I (Ar is 6-20C aromatic hydrocarbon residue, or derivative residue obtained by linking plural aromatic hydrocarbon residue to another bond; n is 0-6; m is 1-4; when m is >=2, each n may be the same or different; Ar and H of the group shown by the formula IImay be partially replaced). The carboxy compound used has 105-350 deg.C, preferably 150-300 deg.C melting point, and an amoung of it blended is 0.1-25pts.wt. based on 100pt.wt. total amounts of the whole polymers.
