PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection control device for a moving object capable of highly precisely detecting an absolute position in high resolution at low cost. SOLUTION: This position detection control device is applied to a machine provided with a driving mechanism 3 moving a moving object 1 along a prescribed moving route R by the driving of a serve motor 2. This device is provided with a whole linear scale 6 having multiple partial scales 7 composed of absolute linear scales sequentially disposed in series along the moving route R. This device is also provided with a position arithmetic means determining that an output is either one of the partial scales based on absolute position information obtained by an encoder 4 of the servomotor 2 in ON-state of the power supply. After this, the position arithmetic means 10 recognizes the absolute position in the whole stroke of the whole linear scale 6 from the output of an arbitrary partial scale 7 using the determination result.
