My invention touches upon the technical field of the automobile and it thereby also touches upon the field of road safety. This invention is the transmission of the braking command from the towing vehicle to the towed vehicle; this being by an electrical means which can easily be fitted to the majority of vehicles. By referring to the diagram included in the file; when the brake pedal is free, the slider of rheostat no. 1 does not touch the rheostat in itself and there is no current in the circuit. In contrast, when the pedal is actuated, this slider is in contact with the body of its rheostat, and owing to the travel of the pedal, it can be positioned differently on its body. In this way, it sends a current of a greater or lesser strength to the coil or electromagnet no. 3. The latter acts on the trailer brake in proportion of the strength of current which has been conveyed to it. The rheostat no. 2 makes it possible to locate this braking force as a function of the braking to be obtained, this being by modifying the reaction ratio. The graphs below show you how. <IMAGE>
