PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality image with high sensitivity by laminating plural silver halide emulsion layers which are different from each other in photosensitivity to form each of two adjacent photosensitive layers which are different from each other in color sensitivity and by incorporating a diffusible DIR compound so that the concn. is maximized in the emulsion layers provided at the nearest position to the adjacent photosensitive layers. CONSTITUTION:Each of adjacent photosensitive layers such as green-and blue- sensitive layers is formed by laminating plural silver halide emulsion layers which are different from each other in photosensitivity, and a diffusible DIR compound releasing a diffusible development retarder or a precursor thereof is incorporated so that the concn. per 1 mole silver halide is maximized in the two adjacent emulsion layers of the green- and blue-sensitive layers. When an intermediate layer is present, the emulsion layers contact with the intermediate layer. When an intermediate layer is not present, the emulsion layers contact with each other. The sharpness and color reproducibility are improved by an interimage (interlaminar) effect and an intraimage (intralaminar) effect, and a color photographic sensitive material with high sharpness and color reproducibility is obtd. |
