NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic, SF-2339, of the formula. It has following descriptions: white powder; molecular formula: C14H25N3O8; molecular weight: 363; elementary analyses in %: C 41.24, H 6.21, N 10.04; melting point: 193-195 deg.C (decomp.); [alpha]<25>D=-28.0 deg. (c=1 in water); easily soluble in water, hardly soluble or insoluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, chloroform, benzene, ethyl acetate, hexane, ethyl ether, dimethyl sulfoxide. USE:Antibacterial. PREPARATION:A miroorganism capable or producing an antibiotic SF-2339 such as Dactylosporangium SF-2339 strain (FERM-7603) is aerobically cultured, preferably through the submerged fermentation process, usually at 25-30 deg.C for 2- 7 days.
