PURPOSE:A composition having extremely improved molding and processing properties without damaging heat resistance, obtained by blending polyphenylene ether or a composition of it and a specific diamide compound. CONSTITUTION:Polyphenylene ether or a composition of it and a styrenic resin is blended with a diamide compound shown by the formula (R<1> and R<2> are saturated or unsaturated chain hydrocarbon residue, alicyclic hydrocarbon residue, or aromatic hydrocarbon residue containing straight chain or side chain, or their derivative residues, with the proviso that total of number of carbons of R<1> and R<2> is 2-10; -X is -O-, -S-, or -COO-, etc.; R<3> and R<4> are saturated or unsaturated chain hydrocarbon residue, alicyclic hydrocarbon residue, or aromatic hydrocarbon residue containing 1-10C straight chain or side chain, or their derivative residues).
