PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the magnetic characteristic of a magnetic film and to produce a multielement thin film magnetic head having high reproduced output at a good yield by forming the part between the adjacent tracks of the 1st core half of a non-magnetic crystalline layer consisting of an amorphous soft magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:The amorphous soft magnetic film 3 to be used as the 1st core half is deposited on a non-magnetic substrate 1 to a prescribed film thickness and a laser beam is irradiated on part of the film 3 to crystallize the film, thereby forming the pattern of the crystalline layer 8. No cracks exist in the 1st core half according to such method and therefore the high reproduced output is obtainable. The deterioration in the magnetic characteristic in the step cover part of the amorphous soft magnetic film of the 1st core half is prevented and therefore the production of the multielement thin film magnetic head having the high reproduced output is made possible at a good yield. |
