The subject of the invention is an electronic device for calculating the distance travelled by a trolley. It is composed of a sensor 5 which records the number of turns of one of the wheels 6 of the said golf trolley 2, the said sensor 5 sends pulses to a microprocessor combined with a computer 3. The rotation sensor 5 is composed of contacts which are disposed opposite at least one magnet fixed onto the wheel 6, the pulse or pulses are sent to the microprocessor of the computer 3; the computer 3 may receive a magnetic card which carries in memory data specific to the course (total distance of the course, distance between the holes), and does this for each number. The invention applies in particular to golf trolleys. <IMAGE>
