PREPARATION OF INTERNAL TRIM MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain an integral article of outer facing and inner trim material satisfying 70-120 deg.C the surface temperature of the inner trim material at the molding time and showing high adhesive strength without any adhesive agent by using the outer facing composed mainly of specified polyolefin foam. CONSTITUTION:Polyolefin foam of facing used contains an aliphatic organic compound of 50ppm max. preferably 40ppm max. and has a high temperature elongation of 100% min. at 120 deg.C and flow initiation temperature of 130 deg.C max. The outer facing is prepared by laminating surface material such as thermoplastic resin formed sheet, cloth or non-woven sheet to this polyolefin foam. This outer facing is put on the inner finish base formed previously into a specified shape by heat pressing under condition that the surface temperature of the inner trim base is 70-120 deg.C, and formed under compression into one body to obtain inner trim material durable, superior and inexpensive under simple manufacturing conditions and processes.
