The adaptation is effected with retention of a predetermined nonlinearity of the heating characteristic by rotating a chord of the heating characteristic and by adapting the heating limit (THG) for values of an outside temperature (TA) which lie between a heating limit (THG) depending on the external heat and a lower limit value. Newly applicable values of a chord slope (KS) and the heating limit (THG) are in each case equal to the sum of old values and of associated correction values. The correction values are equal to a product of a weight factor (K1, K2), of a time decay factor and a mean nominal-/actual-value deviation ( DELTA TR,M) of an actual room temperature value (TR,I) from its nominal value (TR,S) during a program of utilisation [Pr(t)]. The adaptation has the advantage of not needing any complicated mathematical higher-order formula, to be trainable and to have an adaptation parameter which is suitable for controlling a summer/winter switch. The device consists of a measurement-value processing circuit (16), a heating-limit computer (17), a weighting-factor computer (18), a chord-slope computer (19), a nominal-value computer (20) for calculating an advance nominal temperature value (TV,S) and a comparator (21) for generating a control voltage (UH).

|
