PURPOSE:To make perfection printing possible for the longitudinal and lateral bindings of paper by enabling the choice of generating character information in the normal mode or in the reverse mode. CONSTITUTION:Print mode is classified as a normal mode and a reverse mode by an input data processing part 21 depending upon whether printing is for longitudinal binding or lateral binding and a page to be printed is an odd-number page or an even-number page. In the normal mode, a code array is A, B, C, D and E. On the other hand, in the reverse mode, the code array is E, D, B, C and A and is recorded in a page data memory 22. In a character generation control 24, a bit pattern is read sequentially starting with the lower bits, and are reversed by a data selector provided in a bit pattern processor 25 and then converted to a video signal. Then it is loaded onto a scan buffer 26. In this way, it is possible to make perfection printing for lateral binding easily possible only by switching the mode without changing a paper pass mechanism. |
