The clamping collar 1 is formed from an open ring 2 whose ends 3 and 4 are connected by a tangential clamping member 5. The ring 2 is formed by a bending over onto themselves of a pair of interconnected ring members cut out in a single planar piece such that the axis of bending (6) encloses the tangential clamping member (5). The ring (2) has a contact surface (7) disposed over its interior periphery.
