The device described here comprises a bracket with legs pointing downwards. These legs carry appropriately formed support plates which rest against the iliac alae of a patient, the pelvic support plates being fastened on the pelvic bones by screws. Lifting of the bracket fastened on the pelvis eliminates the pressure exerted by gravity onto the skin of the buttock region of a patient, which eliminates the cause of the occurrence of decubital ulcers.
