In the case of a device for providing rounds for a weapon, a plurality of shafts 12 to 15 for holding the rounds 16 are arranged side-by-side. In order to allow simple extraction of a round 16, a carriage 37 can be moved under the shafts 12 to 15, which carriage 37 carries a loading cradle 41 which can be lifted by means of a lifting device 38. Retaining cradles 18, which can pivot by means of a control device 19 to 35, for the rounds 16 are arranged in each shaft 12 to 15. The retaining cradles 18 support the rounds 16 when the loading cradle 41 is lowered. When the loading cradle 41 is raised, the control device 19 to 35 releases the retaining cradles 18 of the relevant shaft 12 to 15. In this case, the bottom round 16 is located in the loading cradle 41. When the loading cradle 41 is lowered, the other rounds move with it. <IMAGE>
