A particularly dust-tight case is described for storing and displaying flat articles, for example banknotes or documents, consisting of two identical, rectangular, flat parts made of transparent plastic material which can be fitted together, form the bottom and the lid of the case and can be fitted together at their edge with the aid of an alternating tongue-and-groove connection, the front edges (8, 9) of the tongues (2) and of the grooves (5) extending up to the planes of symmetry (6, 7) of the case and enclosing an acute angle with said plane of symmetry in such a way that, even at the transitions of the tongue-and-groove connection, the tongue (2) of the one part engages in a water-tight and dust-tight manner in the groove (5) of the other part. <IMAGE>
