The infinitely variable control mechanism comprises an input unit (Fig. 1), an output unit (Fig. 3) and, between them, an obliquely displaceable control unit (Fig. 2). The driving and driven rotary transmission parts 1/14/15/24 are given a mutually matching conical shape. The transmission contact pressure is exerted via a pressure driving sleeve 4 (Figs. 1 and 4). The input unit and the output unit (Figs. 1 and 3) are each bounded by a longitudinal support 11 and 29 for the contact pressure. Parts 4/7/9 (Figs. 1 and 4) with pressure bevels 7, counter to a counter-pressure sleeve 6/8, contact pressure and rotary driving are effected by balls 9 provided between them. The control unit (Fig. 2), which is secured on an obliquely displaceable plate 20, is displaced by means of lever 23, segment gear 21 (Fig. 5). The infinitely variable control mechanism (Figs. 7/8/9) differs from the control mechanism (Figs. 1/2/3) in having a rotatably adjustable control unit. <IMAGE>
