PURPOSE:To provide a hydraulic down coiler which is designed to permit advantageous design and manufacture and easy maintenance by connecting the ends of oscillating shafts of swing frames (SF) to the output shafts of rotary actuators (RA) disposed on the outside of a main frame and oscillating the SF by the RA. CONSTITUTION:The oscillating shafts 17a-17d (17c, 17d are not shown in figure) of the SF14a-14d supported by fulcrums 15a-15d provided to the main frame 11 are projected at the ends thereof to the outside of the frame 11. The output shafts 18a-18d of the RA16a-16d are respectively connected to the ends of said shafts 17a-17d and the SF14a-14d are oscillated by the RA16a-16d. The connection of hydraulic pipings to the RA16a-16d on the outside of the frame 11 is simply required by such constitution and the need for passing the pipings through the inside of the frame 11 is entirely eliminated. The fixed provision of the RA16a-16d is possible and the stationary pipings suffice.
