PURPOSE:To improve the cleaning effect by moving mechanically a remaining developer stuck to a recording material simultaneously with light irradiation to the recording material to weaken the attraction between the recording material and the remaining developer and removing the remaining developer easily with a blade. CONSTITUTION:After a developed image on a recording material is transferred to a recording paper and the recording paper is separated from the surface of the recording material 1, a remaining toner is moved in the direction of an arrow B orthogonal to the advance direction of the recording material 1 by a brush 13 of a developer sweeping-up member 12 when the surface of the recording material 1 to which the remaining toner is stuck reaches a cleaning device 2. Meanwhile, a part E to which the remaining toner is stuck is irradiated by light L because the surface of the recording material 1 is irradiated by an irradiating device 7. That is, the electric charge is removed from not only parts to which the remaining toner is not stuck but also parts to which the remaining toner is stuck on the surface of the recording material 1. Therefore, the attraction between the recording material 1 and the remaining toner is weakened to about zero, and the remaining toner is removed easily by a blade 6 when the surface of the recording material 1 to which the remaining toner is stuck reaches the blade 6. |
