Apparatus (10) for planting cane billets including a bin assembly (14) for carrying cane billets to be planted, a rotor (16) supported at one end of the bin assembly (14), the rotor (16) having a plurality of vanes (18) which gather billets from the top of the bin assembly (14) and direct the billets into grooves (19) between the vanes (18) for depositing into a hopper (29), the hopper (29) having a pair of endless conveying chains (31) at its lower end, the chains (31) moving in opposite directions to convey billets to feed chutes (34) for depositing in a planting furrow. |
