The invention relates to a device for the rapid sealing of a vessel, especially of an unsealed pipe piece, consisting of a collar of elastic material which has sealing ribs along its surface, which sealing ribs are directed inwards and run axially and/or at right angles to the surface of the collar. At its ends, the collar 1 has in each case at least one clamping strip 2, 3, 4, 5, which is connected integrally, can be guided around the circumference of the pipe 6 and is provided with retaining and/or clamping means. At its ends, the collar has a plurality of clamping strips 2, 3, 4, 5 which run parallel to one another. Seen in plan view, the collar 1 forms a straight surface 7 or a bent surface 8 and can also form a L-shaped surface 9 or a T-shaped surface 10.
