Stop device for mitre saws or glass-strip saws

A stop device for crosscut and mitre saws is described which can be removed as a measuring and cutting gauge from the machine frame. The stop device is provided with stops for scanning at the workpiece and with stops for positioning workpieces in the saw. In this arrangement, at least one of the stops is designed in such a way that it can be swung out of the working area, and the guide bar itself is hung in a U-shaped suspension means in such a way as to be locked against rotation. The U-shaped suspension means is allocated to the machine supporting table. This results in the advantage that the entire stop device does not need to be rotated during the machining, but only a hinged stop needs to be swung in or out.
