The signal transmitter (1) possesses a housing (10) which in the mounting position is located facing part of the brake (8, 9, 44) , at a distance which decreases as the brake lining wears (6). The housing (10) contains electric contacts (31, 35, 37, 38, 28, 38) and wires (41, 43, 45, 30, 32) the switching statuses of which can be varied for a specific wear or heating of the brake lining (6). In the housing (10) is fitted a plug (51, 20), movable from a rest position parallel to the direction of the brake lining wear (6). In the event of advanced wear of the the brake lining (6), the part of the brake (8, 9, 44) continues to push the plug (51, 20) further into the housing (10). In the end position of the plug (51, 20) at least one of the contacts (37, 39, 28, 38) is held in a different switching position from that of the rest position, which leads to the emission of a warning signal. |
