PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of analysis and the durability of a column by making the rise of a gradient concn. into an S-shape and increasing gradually the gradient. CONSTITUTION:Prescribed carrier liquids A, B are charged into liquid tanks 3a, 3b. The concn. gradient curve which rises in the S-shape and rises thereafter at a specified ratio and the speed gradient curve which rises at a specified gradient, attains the max. value in a column cleaning stage while rising with constant gradient and falls thereafter gradually are inputted to a gradient control device 6 at the same time and thereafter a sample is fed into an injector 4. The device 6 is then started. A liquid feed mechanism 1 starts feeding the liquid A at the flow rate conforming to the speed gradient curve. The flow rate of the liquid A is therefore kept low at the initial point of time by which the pressure impact on the packing material in the column 5 is decreased and the column life can be extended. The liquid B is supplied to the column 5 along the S-shaped concn. gradient curve while the ratio thereof is increased at the point of the time when the sample injection to the column 5 ends and therefore the packing material is kept free from concn. shock and the analysis with high accuracy is made possible with a UV photometer 7. |
