In a spinning beam for the spinning of thermoplastic threads, the functional modules, such as, for example, the pump unit, are in heat-conducting contact with the walls of the surrounding heating jacket. For this purpose, the chambers, into which the functional modules are inserted, are filled with filling bodies. These filling bodies are likewise to be in contact with the walls of the heating box. For this purpose, the filling bodies are divided in two. A wedge-shaped recess is located in the parting plane. A wedge acting as a spreading body is introduced into this wedge-shaped recess. As a result of its own weight, the spreading body presses the filling bodies onto one another, so that they come into contact with the walls of the heating chamber. The recesses possess, at their upper end, bearing surfaces which are identical in shape to corresponding bearing surfaces of the spreading body. The spreading body possesses a handle. When the spreading body is being taken out of the chamber, the spreading body engages behind the bearing surfaces of the filling bodies, so that the filling bodies can be drawn out of the chamber in a simple way.
