A circular cross-section silo (1) comprises at its upper end a central bearing column (4), a rotation mechanism (5) for a filling device (6, 7, 8) and a radial crane bridge (9). A lifting structure (12) which is upwardly and downwardly displaceable and which surrounds the bearing column (4) hangs to the rotation mechanism (5). Said structure comprises a double screw conveyor (18) extending radially and hinged about a horizontal axis (15). The outer end of the conveyor (18) is secured by a cable under the crane bridge (9) and may be raised and lowered. The bearing column (4) is comprised of rings (21) which form a central emptying well (22).To mix non homogenous granular materials, the double screw conveyor (18) will be actuated differently for the filling and the emptying; thereby, it obliquely attacks during the emptying operation the filling layers (23) which have a cone or funnel shape during the filling operation.
