PURPOSE:To perform precise connection of a thermal print head with a flexible substrate by forming a dotted part and wiring pattern on a substrate having a marked line for separation and soldering a flexible substrate. CONSTITUTION:A notched groove 12 is provided on a reverse side located slightly left of the center of a ceramic substrate 11. Wiring patterns 15a, 15b are formed on the base 11a and 11b of the substrate 11 simultaneously. Then a heating resistor is arranged on a dotted part 13 and IC14 is attached on the substrate 11b side. Next, a flexible substrate 16 is soldered to a wiring pattern 15a of the base 11a and a wiring pattern 15b of the base 11b across a notched groove 12. The substrate 11 is bent with the notched groove 12 as a basic point and then is separated into the base 11a and the base 11b. After this, these bases are to be angled properly and fixed to a frame or any other proper objects respecively. Thus a thermal print head of comparatively smaller height can be obtained. |
