PURPOSE:To provide a titled control device which controls the cutting length of slabs by comparing the slab length value measured by a rotating body in contact with the continuously supplied slab and the measured width value thereof with set values, transmits the information thereon to the subsequent stages and executes automatic sorting including size correction. CONSTITUTION:The slab length value measured by the rotating body 11 in contact with the continuously supplied slab 50a and the slab width value measured by a slab width measuring device 12 are put into a control circuit 13. On the other hand, said values are compared with the set values set in an upper control device 40 by which the cutting length is determined and the 1st cutting mechanism 22a is operated. The 2nd cutting length 22b is similarly operated. The information on the slab 50c cut in such a manner is fed from the device 50 to a subsequent stage control device 30 by which the information is automatically sorted to a device for sorting by sizes and a stage for correcting the material requiring a width change, etc. The width change of the continuous casting slab is frequently executed in which the error in selection is eliminated by the automatic cutting and sorting at the set values. The yield of the product is thus improved. |
