MAGNETIC FILTER

An electromagnetic filter (10) has a fluid inlet (22) and an outlet (24) arranged at the same end of a filter vessel (12), so that the surrounding electromagnetic coil (36) can be removed without disturbing the fluid flow. The magnet coil may be repaired without necessitating the removal of the flanges or the cutting of the pipes. Hazardous or expensive filtrate contamination is avoided. A non- magnetic core may be provided by a central outlet pipe enabling lower energy usage. Less piping is required with the inlet and ouplet at the same end of the vessel.
