PURPOSE:To control a line pressure to be a proper value corresponding to the actual output of an engine by providing a means for calculating the output torque of an engine and a regulating valve for regulating said line pressure in relation to the calculated value of said calculating means. CONSTITUTION:First, engine speed Ne, intake air throttle opening theta, and engine cooling water temp. Tw are read (step 80). The intake air throttle opening theta may be replaced by Q/Ne as a quantity of intake air per rotation of engine. Next, the temp. of cooling water Tw is compared with a defined value Tw1, to judge whether the warming up of engine is still under way or completed (step 82), and a table A1 is designated when the warming up is under way while a table A2 is designated after it is completed. Then, based on the designated table, an output torque Te is calculated (step 94), line pressure Pl is calculated, and the control voltage Vc for a pressure regulating valve 32 is calculated (step 100), to obtain a desired line pressure. |
