PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom from the standpoint of a starter setup, by setting up a driving part provided with a motor and an operating part transmitting drivine force of the motor to a flywheel, in keeping them apart from each other, while connecting each of them together via a shaft coupling. CONSTITUTION:A starter 3 is set up in and around a joining part between a cylinder block 1 and an oil pan 2. In this case, the starter 3 is constituted of setting up an operating part 4 and a driving part in keeping them apart from each other and connecting them together via a shaft coupling 6. And, it rotates an output shaft 15 according to operation of a motor inside the driving part 5 and further rotates an input shaft 11 of the operating part 4 via the shaft coupling 6. With this rotation, the operating part 4 rotates a crankshaft via a flywheel 12, thus an engine starts. With this constitution, the degree of freedom from h standpoint of the setup of the starter 3 is increasable, while slippage in a setting position between the operating part 4 and the driving part 5 is absorbed by the shaft coupling 6, thus excessive load is preventable from being imposed on the motor of the driving part 5. |
