PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to corrosion by org. acids by adding prescribed percentages of C, Cr, Ni, Mo, Cu and Al. CONSTITUTION:This organic acid resistant stainless steel consists of, by weight, <=0.05% C, 12-18% Cr, <=0.1% Ni, 0.2-2% Mo, <=0.1% Cu, 0.02-0.5% Al and the balance Fe. The stainless steel has superior resistance to corrosion by various org. acids produced by the fermentation of lactic acid especially in a slio for dairy.
