PURPOSE:To control optionally a recording medium by off-hook of a slave set by connecting organically a cordless phone and an automatic answering telephone call so as to activate the automatic response recording means incorporated with a master set equipment after the calling of a caller is confirmed by a slave set. CONSTITUTION:The cordless telephone set 1 having an absence response and recording function is used as the master set and a tone ringer circuit 2 of the telephone set 1 generates a tone in response to a call signal from telephone lines L1, L2. A tone circuit 6 generating a tone in response to the call signal and an IC memory 7 recording and reproducing a message of the caller and transmitting the response message are provided to the telephone set 1, and a timer 7-1 and an off-hook relay 12 are connected to the memory 7. Moreover, a receiver 10 is provided via a hybrid circuit 8, a slave set 12 comprising a cordless phone is connected to the receiver 10 and contacts 12-1, 12-2 activated by the caller are provided to the slave set 12. After the call of the caller is confirmed by the slave set 12, the recording and reproducing means together with the telephone set 1 is operated and the slave set 12 controls optionally a recording medium.
