PURPOSE:A carcinostatic agent, obtained by incorporating squalene with another carcinostatic agent, e.g. doxorubicin or bleomycin, and having remarkably enhanced carcinostatic effect. CONSTITUTION:A carcinostatic agent, obtained by adding any one of doxorubicin or bleomycin, FT-207, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), vincristine, amethopterine, mitomycin, carbazilquinone and cyclophosphamide to squalene. Although it is already confirmed that the squalene has carcinostatic action, the combined use thereof with the above-mentioned carcinostatic agent permits more remarkable enhancement of the carcinostatic effect than its use alone. For example, in the case of observation of the carcinostatic effect of the doxorubicin in the presence or absence of the squalene, effect similar to cell lethal effect of almost 7 times that in the absence of the doxorubicin was observed by the combination thereof with the squalene. |
