PURPOSE:To permit an easy replacement of a tape carrier and, in addition, to simplify manufacturing of a thermal head by connecting the tape carrier between a connecting portion of a driving electrode of a heat resistant substrate and a connecting portion of a wiring pattern of a wiring substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thermoresistant substrate 1 and a wiring substrate 30 are adhered to a mounting plate 14, and heat generating resistor elements 2 and driving electrodes 3 are provided on the substrate 1 and a connecting portion 6 of the driving electrode 3 is provided in an extension of Y direction which is perpendicular to the direction X of an arrangement of the resistor element 2. Connecting portions 31 are formed in an extension of Y direction on the substrate 30, and a wiring pattern 32 is formed on the reverse side, and connection is made with connecting portions 31 via through-holes 33. Leads 21 of a tape carrier 20 upon which an integrated driving circuit element 23 is mounted and driving electrodes 3, and leads 22 and the connecting portions 31 are connected by thermocompression bonding. |
