PURPOSE:To prevent light for erasure from entering a readout part and obtain a compact device by providing a couple of rollers which carry accumulative fluorescent material sheets along an opening part to an erasure part equipped with an erasing light source, and covering the couple of rollers with a cover member which has the opening part. CONSTITUTION:An accumulative fluorescent material sheet after being read is passed through conveyor belts and the opening 122a of the cover member 117a and clamped between nip rollers 116a and 116b. Then, the roller 116b is elevated against the tensile force of a spring 120a and a microswitch 126 operates to rotate a motor 130, thereby rotating the rollers 116a and 116b through a chain 136 and a sprocket 138. The sheet 150 is carried to the opening of the housing 102 of the erasure unit through a guide member 114, and the switch 126 returns when the sheet reaches the nip rollers 118a and 118b to stop the motor 130, thereby performing erasure by an erasing light source. Conveying means 104 and 106 are covered with cover members 117a and 117b, so the light for erasure is prevented from entering the readout part.
