PURPOSE:To obtain a low m.p. alloy for a temp. fuse having a reduced melting temp., improved workability and endurance by adding a small amount of Cd to a Bi-In alloy. CONSTITUTION:This low m.p. alloy for a temp. fuse consists of 31-38wt% Bi, 1.5-7wt% Cd and the balance In and has 60-70 deg.C melting temp. In is alloyed with Bi to reduce the melting temp. in some degree, and the m.p. is further reduced by adding said small amount of Cd. The low m.p. alloy is quickly broken by melting and has an accurate working temp. The amount of Cd as a harmful metal contained in the alloy is smal. The alloy undergoes no deterioration even under severe conditions and can maintain its stable quality for a long period.
