PURPOSE:To eliminate printing slippage by correcting the difference between the flight speed of ink liquid droplets followed by the size of said ink droplets, in a printer for performing different density printing by changing the size of injected ink liquid droplets, by delaying jet time as ink liquid droplets become smaller. CONSTITUTION:In a printer wherein electric energy applied to the electromechanical converter element (e.g., piezoelectric element) provided to a nozzle chamber is made variable and the size of the ink liquid droplet injected from a nozzle is made changeable to enable different density printing, application is started so as to be delayed by a delay time, which is inversely proportional to the electric energy applied to the electromechanical converter element, from the point of time when the application of standard electric energy is started. For example, printing signals are divided into three classes corresponding to large, medium and small sizes of the ink liquid droplet by a selector 2 and one of them is passed through the corresponding delay circuit among three delay circuits 3a-3c before inputted to the drive circuit 5 of the electromechanical converter element. |
