PURPOSE:To assemble an electron-gun cathode structure with high accuracy without causing any deformation by positioning and holding a cathode supporter and then welding sleeves and a strap to the cathode supporter while the sleeves and the strap are held by a chuck. CONSTITUTION:An ultraquick-type electron gun cathode structure 1 is assembled by fixing a base metal 7 coated with an electron-emitting substance 8 to a cathode supporter 2 and welding a pair of sleeves 6 in which a heater 10 is inserted to the supporter 2 through a strap 9. A device 11 for assembling the structure 1 is constituted of a cathode-structure-supporting mechanism 12, a sleeve-supplying mechanism 13, a pair of strap-cutting mechanism 14, a strap- supplying mechanism 15 and a welding mechanism 16. After the supporter 2 is held by the mechanism 12, the sleeves 6 and the strap 9 are supplied before they are welded while being held by a chuck. By the means mentioned above, it is possible to attach the sleeves 6 and the strap 9 without deforming them even when they are thin. |
