The open mouthed container has a mouth which undercuts the body of the container to allow the bodies of adjacent containers with lides to contact each other. The arrangement is such that the container can be formed in a simple cored mould. The body consists of two protruding lobes (3) with two flat insets (4). Extensions define the mouth (7). If the inset portions were removed and the protruding portions brought together to meet along their edges, then the resulting inner surface can pass through the mouth (7). This provides greater stability of a line of lidded containers and uses less space because the bodies of adjacent container touch each other. The use of a cored mould simplified production.
|
