PURPOSE:To lighten the load of the software of a computer and to make high- speed recording and reproduction of data which do not require any correction and, at the same time, to temporarily preserve data from the computer, by providing a large-capacity memory, input-output circuit, editing circuit, and virtual storage means. CONSTITUTION:An editing circuit 30 edits the content of a memory upon receiving an edit designation from an interface circuit 10. A direct input-output circuit 11 executes direct data input-output with an optical disk medium upon receiving a direct input-output designation from a computer. A temporary storage control circuit 41 performs temporary preservation control and temporarily preserves data when the circuit 41 receives a temporarily preserving designation from the computer. The software of the computer gives an optical disk control device a direct input-output designation when data which do not require any correction are to be directly inputted from and outputted to the optical disk medium. |
