<p>The equipment consists of a vertical electric arc furnace, tri-phase, with carbon-graphite electrodes, which receives the charge of silicon oxide and carbon with the help of a carrier such as a non-oxidising gas; an auxiliary installation formed by three hydraulically-operated mechanical arms seize the block of silicon carbide in its downward movement from the furnace exit; an installation for drawing off gases, and a unit for cyclone treatment and condensation of the gases.</p> |
