PURPOSE:To provide the titled hollow yarn filter module capable of obtaining a high shaking effect by bubbles during the regeneration and suitable for treating water contg. metallic ions and colloidal materials in large quantities by providing a hollow yarn supporting member to specify the relaxation ratio for setting hollow yarn filter membranes within specified range of values. CONSTITUTION:Numerous hollow yarn filter membranes 3 are bundled into a U shape and fixed to the inner surface of an annular member 1 with a fixing member 2. A hollow yarn supporting member 5 for keeping always the U shape of the filter membrane 3 is passed through the center of the U-shaped part of the filter membrane 3 and joined to a supporting member 4 and provided. The supporting member 5 is provided so that the relaxation rate R defined by the formula for setting hollow yarn filter membranes may be regulated to 0.5-15%. Accordingly, the shape of the U-shaped bundle of filter membranes 3 is kept during the regeneration by bubbles, the bubbles are struck uniformly on the whole bundle of the filter membrane 3, and the shaking effect can be fully exhibited.
