<p>2,3,5,6-Tetrachloro 1-(1,1-dichloro alkyl)benzenes and derived ethylenes and acetylenes, of formula ArCCl2R, ArCCl = CHR1 and ArCCR1 (where Ar is 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro phenyl, R is alkyl and R1 is H or alkyl) are made by reaction of a cpd. of formula ArCCl3 with a trialkyl phosphite in a suitable diluent, in presence or absence of cuprous chloride, opt. followed by thermal or chemical dehydrohalogenation. - The prods. are purified by absorption chromatography or crystallisation. ..ER ALL</p> |
