PURPOSE:To exchange rolls with an easy operation by moving upward a screw to separate the screw from an upper roll chock and drawing out an operation side housing so that the upper and lower roll set is removed with one crane operation. CONSTITUTION:The screw 10 is moved upward to separate thoroughly the screw and the upper roll chock 4. Upper and lower spindles 16, 17 are then supported by a spindle support 29. The operation side housing 2 is gradually drawn out by a hydraulic cylinder 20, then the upper and lower rolls 6, 7, roll shafts 12, 13 and upper and lower chocks 4, 5 are integrally drawn out. The housing 2 moves by (b) in the entire stroke of the cylinder 20 when the cylinder 20 attains a stroke end. A slide frame 22 is hoisted by the crane together with the upper and lower roll set in the thorougly drawn-out state of the housing 2. A fresh roll set is then set by the crane. |
