The master circuit has an unregulated d.c. input (1,2) which is fed to a series stabiliser transistor (7). The base current to the transistor is supplied by a comparator (6) which has inputs from a variable voltage reference source (3,4, 5) and from the circuit output (9). The emitter is fed, via a low value resistance (RV1), to an output smoothing capacitor (8). - The slave circuit is similar to the master circuit, except that one of the comparator (13) inputs is from the junction between the emitter of the transistor (14) and the series resistance (RV2), while the other is free from the similar junction in the master circuit. The slave comparator (13) thus ensures that the voltages (UR1,UR2) across the two series resistances (VR1,VR2), and hence the output voltages (U1,U2), are equal.
