PURPOSE:To position billets having different thicknesses in the normal positions within the respective supporting grooves of stationary rakes by subjecting respective rotating arms to horizontal movement in addition to vertical and oscillatory movements. CONSTITUTION:A billet 4 carried to the bottom of a turning type cooling bed 1 by a feed-in roller table 5 is ejected by a pusher 8 and is brought into the normal position on the 1st supporting groove 7 of the stationary rake 2. The turning arm 12 is then moved upward by a lifting cylinder 16 to scoop up the billet 4 onto the 2nd supporting groove 21 from the groove 7. The rod of the cylinder 19 is then retracted simultaneously or after the upward movement of the cylinder 16 and a frame 11 is moved for a specified distance in the advancing direction of the long-sized material. The arm 12 is rotated rightward by the operation of a turning cylinder 24 to turn the billet 4 by a constant angle. The arm 12 is again lowered by the cylinder 16 and the billet 4 in the state of turning 90 deg. is transferred to the adjacent groove 7. The arm 12 is thereafter turned to the home position. The frame 11 is turned to the home position. |
