PURPOSE:To perform a deformation work uniformly on a core material and an outer layer and to manufacture easily a forging composite roll by forging with giving a temp. difference to the core material and the outer layer in case of forging to the ingot having different sorts of metals at the inner and outer side consisting of the core material and the outer layer each having a different deformation resistance. CONSTITUTION:A core material 1 is heated to 1,000 deg.C and outer layer metal 2 to 1,150 deg.C with induction heating by AC current of 50Hz, in case of manufacturing a composite roll for cold rolling with forging an ingot of different sorts of metals consisting of an outer layer 2 having a big deformation resistance and the core material 1 having a small deformation resistance. Both core material 1 and outer layer material 2 are uniformly deformed by forging work and form a fine dendrite structure, and a composite roll for cold rolling having an excellent rough surface resistance and spalling resistance can be manufactured by forging a composite ingot having the temp. difference thereof.
