PURPOSE:To reduce the load of software for a computer and to attain rapid recording/reproducing of data of which correction is unnecessary by forming a large capacity memory, an editing circuit and a direct I/O circuit on the optical disc control device side. CONSTITUTION:When an editing indication is inputted to an editing circuit 30 through an interface circuit 10, the contents of a memory are edited in accordance with the editing indication and the software of the computer applies a write indication to the optical disc control device after the edition. Receiving the write indication through the interface circuit 10, an I/O circuit 20 outputs the write indication to an optical disc control circuit 50. Receiving the write indication, the control circuit 50 writes the data of the memory in an optical disc. At a reading time, the software of the computer applies a reading indication and transfers the contents of the optical disc medium to the memory at first and then to the computer. When data of which edition is unnecessary are directly inputted/outputted to/from the optical disc medium, the software of the computer applies an I/O indication to the direct I/O circuit 11.
