PURPOSE:To perform automatic origination from the network control part of a MODEM through a circuit by equipping the MODEM with the network control part and a modulation and demodulation part, replacing originating operation when an origination-side terminal device calls an opposite-side terminal device with command data, and transmitting data forth and back between the origination-side terminal device and MODEM through a signal line for transmitted and received data. CONSTITUTION:A selector 10 which sending an ER (Equipment Ready) signal of ''OFF'' to both origination and termination sides forms a circuit which connects an interface 6, CPU11, and network control part 3 together. When a request for calling is sent out by operator's keyboard operation under program control at a terminal device 20 in said state, this request for calling is sent as an interface control signal replaced with command data to the interface 6, and the signal is supplied to a CPU11 through an SD signal line and sent to the network control part 3. The network control part 3 when detecting the ER signal in the ''OFF'' state sends a command signal as a request for the opposite-part number to the terminal device 20 through an RD signal line. |
